It was actually just a few hours away before the official launch of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) that a short video was leaked in public showing every feature about the flagships which are out to offer.
Via this video, it is no doubt that this is going to be a perfect phone for business. Alike to some previous leaks, the video confirms that design of the Galaxy S9 and S9+ is matching the last year’s flagships. But as competition is going on day by day, Samsung has smartly added new features to lead the race. It gives us a first look at the DeX Pad, Samsung’s replacement to the original DeX docking station that launched last year. Also, the most noticeable feature is the array of sensors on the top bezel. The Galaxy S9 and S9+ now have a biometric sensor for iris unlock. Both the phones: The S9 is advertised as “The phone re-imagined to work smarter” with faster and seamless multitasking being one of its best features and the Galaxy S9+ is advertised as “The phone re-imagined to do more effectively”, and yes, it does have dual cameras on the back.
The video shows a new built-in automatic translator in Samsung’s camera app, which looks to work very much like Google Translate’s option for live translation via the camera. It also confirms the new vertical placement of the fingerprint sensor; an attempt by Samsung to make it more ergonomic to use than the previous-generation variant. In addition, Samsung has also put in a feature to bundle two apps together making us easy to view them as a split screen in a single touch.
The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are expected to be available in multiple colour variants, including Midnight Black, Titanium Gray, Lilac Purple, Coral Blue colours. The new phone’s fingerprint sensor has shifted to a more sensible central position, the previously leaked DeX Pad is shown in use, and the conclusion of Samsung’s vid leans heavily into the idea of the S9 being a great business phone.
