The new home of the Nokia brand has unveiled 5 new phones. Top in the list is the gorgeous new flagship Android phone, Nokia 8 Sirocco with a 2K screen and a Zeiss-branded dual-camera setup that combines a regular shooter with a telephoto lens. And with this all there is an expectation that it will get better results in the first quarter.
The usage of a single piece of steel which is more durable and stronger than aluminum has added a brilliant feature to this phone. The 3D Gorilla Glass 5 present on both sides of the device gives the Sirocco a premium curved appearance. It has a 5.5” Quad HD pOLED screen curved on both edges. Nokia says that every 8 Sirocco unit is made out of a single block of stainless steel, which contributes to the phone’s structural integrity. Thus even with its strength, it is just 7.5mm at its thickest point. And it comes with an IP67 rating. There are also loads more here to like, with the spec including support for wireless charging, IP67 waterproofing, a rear fingerprint scanner.
Talking about the hardware, it comes with Snapdragon 835 processor. Similarly, it comes with 6GB of RAM, a 3260 mAh battery and 128GB of internal storage. On the back of the phone, there’s a dual-cam setup that features a 12MP wide-angle primary camera. Also, it is paired with a 13MP telephoto shooter capable of delivering 2 times optical magnification. Upfront, there’s a 5MP selfie shooter. For connectivity, the phone has a USB-C port, NFC, GPS, Bluetooth 5.0, and dual-band WiFi. It will be immediately familiar to people who’ve used Lumia phones, as it features the same arc-based user interface for controlling various settings, such as white balance, ISO, and shutter speed. The Nokia 8 Sirocco will be available from early April, starting at €749 excluding taxes.
